Cold starting problems??? Help
Cold starting problems??? Help
Hello, I am new here so if this was covered before sorry.
Here goes, 1995 max 123K miles auto, when I go to start it up after it has been sitting more than 20 min it is very hard to get going, or will fire and cut right back out. I have tried 87-93 oct gas no diff, I am thinking maybe the fuel pump but would like some other input??
Thanks
Will

lol...j/k!OK, bad cold start problems are probably related to the Engine
Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) which mixes the air/fuel depending
on the sensor's reading.
BUT, you'll have to be a bit more specific...it starts, then quits...
Does it ever work? It must if you can let it cool down for a while!
so, be more descriptive.
PLUS -- to avoid getting flamed on here -- USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION
on the top right of your screen...it is your best friend.
take care and good luck!

First try cleaning your throttle body. Go to www.motorvate.ca for detailed instructions. If that doesn't cure things, definately look into the Engine Coolant Temp sensor as Flo-Boy suggested.
