Has anyone changed the lighting in the air conditioning unit?

I want to know if anyone has changed the lighting in their air conditioning controls (you know the light that comes on when you turn on your headlights)? First of all does anyone know what lights I would need to replace the ones that are already there? I want to change them to blue. I tried taking the thing apart to investigate but it got a little complicated and time-consuming. Does it require any soldering? Has anyone taken that thing apart for any reason and could offer any expertise? I am counting on the help of any electronic guru's that have already tried this or know how but want someone else to try first. A little help please.

I did. The bulbs in there are TINY. What you need to do is paint them the color you want. I used "clear red" hobby paint on mine.

Here's a crappy pic of mine:

mzmtg,

Have I got some questions for you (or anyone else who is up to it). How did you go about taking that thing apart and putting it back together like that? What name/brand of "hobby paint" did you use. Did you ever figure out how to color the sliding **** anything but that ugly green? I could not for the life of me figure out how to take it apart. Do you think that you could hook it up with some instructions? My window switches are blue so are my gages and the lighting from the automatic gear settings. That is pretty much all I need for a completely blue interior. Can anyone help?

There are several small screws down inside the unit. SOme pieces snap out, some are held in by screws. The slider is lit by an LED, so that should be easy to change.
