Brake noise

Under moderatly hard braking conditions, I have a slow pulsing, almost grinding noise/feel at the pedal. I would assume immediatly that it was rotors but the brakes still hold evenly and dont vibrate, any ideas what it could be?
-btw, last night messed up a probe GT twice. i mean geez, after a big 4 door sedan SMOKES you once, why would you want to go again? whatever

might be the ABS kicking in??

I would pull the wheels and inspect the pads and surface of each rotor to see it anything was hung in the pads and/or rubbing on the rotor.
