I have a 99 maxima and sunday night my car died and i had to get it jumped.It started up right away and i drove it home .I didn't try to drive it from sunday until this morning and all i get when i turn the key is a clicking noise .The interior lights work fine and the alarm and door locks work as well....... what do u think can be the problem


1. I have the stock battery still in the car i'm up to 50,000 miles right now ..i'll have to check the volts on the battery when i get home

2.I'm thinking it could be the alternator .How much does a new one run ?

 

The clicking is the starter solenoid. It's not starting because your battery is dead again. Your best bet is to get another jump-start and go buy a new battery (without shutting the car off, heh.) If your alternator was dying, it would probably be making a loud noise, so this is just a battery issue.
