There's very minimal gain to almost none as far as performance. Some have observed that their open air intakes have hurt performance. This thread contains posts from several members who actually have felt some performance loss from their open air intakes due to the intake's midpipe which replaces the intake resonator. This was actually proven in the race track and a member have posted details in the same thread. Leaving the stock resonator in actually helps with performance. The weapon-R comes with a midpipe as well but I suggest that you not install it and leave the intake reasonator in. I sure wished that you had done the searches in the forum first before dropping some serious cash for it. In order to enhance performance, cold dense air is needed. And this is why our cars come with airboxes. Most people think that the stock airbox is restrictive and that removing it can be beneficial but it definitely introduces the issue of hot air entering the engine. Others, only care about the more aggressive sound they get from them. If that is all you want then the weapon-R, or any other less expensive intake systems, should do the job.

I personally wouldn't get any open air intake because they introduce heat into the engine. All I did with mine is replaced the oem air filter with a K&N one, this provides better flow of air than the oem one.
