Is There a 5th gear in my auto Max?

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say your talking about when the torque converter locks up and it feels like it's shifting into another gear?

Nope no 5th gear...4th is considered overdrive in auto just as 5th is overdrive in 5 speeds. Even if it did happen to have a 5th gear, your car would never make it fast enough to shift into it. You would have to be going atleast 140 MPH to make it out of 4th

Sorry, forgot to mention that would be at WOT...because of the shift points on an auto.

it still wouldnt be 140 the gearing would be different if he had a 5th which we know he doesnt, but i get what ur saying now lol

Perfectly normal. It does this for fuel economy.
