So how do I test an ignition coil?

Is there a way to test an ignition coil to find out if it is defective...perhaps misfiring or something other than that? If so...please let me know

According to my '98 factory service manual, disconnect ignition coil with power transistor harness connector. Check ignition coil with power transistor for reistence between terminals 1 and 2...If you get 0 ohms resistance, it is defective. Replace ignition coil with transistor assy.
