Question on 9004 headlight bulb!!

Sorry for the stupid question, but I wanted to know what the stock wattage for the 9004 bulb for 4th gen.

I have a set of 4000k bulbs that shows on the box - 12v 85/80w (130/100w)

Anyone know if this is gonna burn my harness or should it be okay??

Thanks!!!

I have those 85/80 in now, I've had no trouble? Should I replace?

From: 90706 so cal
buy some battery contact grease(dielectric grease) and put them on the contacts if you decide to leave them in. it will protect your harness a lil bit at the contacts from the extra heat and corrisoin..u still run the chance of frying a wire though. some have problems wtih upwattage bulbs, some dont..i have 85watt fogs in teh 55watt stock harness no problems yet..

The cool blues don't do crap. Just buy stock ones, they look the same. If anything, you might want to try sylvania premiums, as they are supposed to give 20% more light.

I actually love the output these bulbs give.

Since we're on the topic of bulbs, I got polarg M14 bulbs for the corner lights but they look really dim compared to the side markers, turn signals and headlights...is that normal?? Do I rewire the cornering lights to get them just as bright as the other lights as per the following instructions:

Rewire cornering light instructions

Thanks!!!

No, dont use those instructions. Take a look at the bulb. There are two knoobs. There is a high one , and a lower one. Take a nail cliper, clip the HIGHER ONE, and then wrap the hole in electrical tape. Then put the remaining **** in the place of where the higher one was. Put houseing back in. Do other side. 5 min job.

Man that sounds pretty ghetto but if it worked for you than God bless. I guess it's worth a shot if it works....

REAL stupid question, why is the corner lamp bulb a dual filament??? I thought that the purpose of dual filament bulbs was to be able to lit up and than also blink. My corner lamp doesn't blink when the blinker is on - tell me it's not supposed to...

95 / 96 they lit up when the turn signal was put on. 97-99 it does not light up brighter. Why they have a dual filament is beyond me. I guess its getto, but I got the instructions straight from this forum in the FAQ so im not the only one. Take a look for your self.
