A/C Pressure Switch location?
Hello Everyone,
I have a 96 GLE & am trying to locate the A/C Pressure switch mounted on top of the receiver/drier. Can someone please point it out. Is it accessible & visible from the above? I tried using the "search" feature on this forum, but apparently it is not working at the moment.
Thanks,
S

Are you trying to override it to get your compressor to always stay on? Well, that's the switch you're talking about, I'm sure.
Look on the left side, in front of the battery. There is a relay box. Look in front of the relay box, but a bit lower down. You will see the aluminum (?) tube with a threaded switch and a harness connector going to it. That's the one.
I removed the bolts that secured the relay box down to the side member, so I could get my hand in there and push the connector lock release tab, so I could disconnect it when I was troubleshooting my A/C 3 weeks ago.
If you're planning on replacing the switch, the system is under pressure and I would not recommend you do it since unless you evacuate the system first and have the necessary equipment to pull the system in to a vacuum after replacement. Or take it to the shop.
