All Maxima's speed-o's die off around 90,000 miles. It's part of Nissans plan (FOR US!) to make tons more money when selling the car. Well for instance, your car could have 300,000 miles and you could sell it with 90k on the odo and they will believe you.

Nissan....amazing car company.

Yeah, the speedo works. I orginally tried to delete this topic since I found so many other topics about this. It seems you can't do much besides replace stuff (no cheap fixes).

Well here's the story. It has happened a couple times before. The first time it happened I fixed it by flooring it from about 30, getting the trans to kick back to first and as a result possible jerked the odo loose of whatever it was stuck on (could have been a coqensedence). The second time I fixed it by smacking the plastic over the instrument cluster, hoping that it would get the odo unstuck, and it did for awhile. But then it got stuck a few miles later. Later today I started driving again and the odometer started turning again.

Well as long as the speedo still works I'm not going to put money into it and potential screw up to title for having a changed odemeter. It still ****es me off beause I bought the car a couple months ago and I have no clue how much this happened before I bought it.
