Difference between Max Engine and 300ZX
What some of the differences in the two engines? I've always heard that they are essentially the same, but I know there are some definite differences, like the Twin Turbo on the 300.

Z comes with true dual intakes (2 throttle bodies) and two true dual exhaust. all motors up to 94 (including 94) has no OBD-II emission control.
so the Z gets a separate intake and exhaust for 3 cylinders. and Z has extremely high compression (not TT)

I was on the hondasociety kill stories forum a week ago; some guy was bragging about beating a "Z3, civic hybrid, and a built N/A 300ZX." Since I'm ignorant (and my sig says "98 Maxima GXE, intake, y-pipe"), I posted "Why would anyone build a N/A 300ZX?" and I was promptly told "Why would anyone modify a 98 Maxima?" Hmm... and then someone quoted that person and added "owned."
Just thought that I should post that since it dealt with the 300ZX and the Maxima. You're welcome.

He thought it was silly to mod a 300zx (sports car) while modding a Maxima (family sedan). To each, their own.

The main difference is the oil cap.. one is a kind of really really dark black.. and the other one sometimes has a lighter black color to it. Forgot which is which though...
It gets harder to tell the difference when the engines are older and the oil caps might just be worn out.
