Intake Temp Sensor??

CEL indicates that the intake air temp sensor is bad...i have taken the stock intake off before and left the intake temp sensor conected but not with any air flowing through the pipe because i had installed the poor man's intake....could this break the sensor?
when you install a real Cai where will the intake temp sensor go? anyone know about how much these are from the dealer? all advice will be greatly appreciated....

Make sure it's plug is secure. Also make sure it's not just hanging around slamming into other hot engine components. You should place the sensor close to the filter/air inlet of your poor mans intake.

A real aftermarket intake such as Injen ect. has a hole which that sensor mounts in.

Make sure the sensor is plugged in and secured in a good location. Clear the error from your ECU and see if it comes back.

The same thing happened to me this afternoon but before replacing the air intake temp sensor. Try blowing in it to get any dirt out of it. That just might be it.
