Excellent site. First I've seen some of those comparisons. Keep up the good work!

Is this from personal experience? Coilovers will ride harsh if you set them up that way. They are no harsher than a regular set of lowering spring and adjustable shocks could be.
How can you say that so confidently? I always believed that coilovers will always ride harsher. ESPECIALLY JICs since they use metal upper pillar ball mounts. The coilovers may dampen well, but there's a clear tradeoff, and that's ride quality (harshness).

Progress has coilovers too but JIC coilovers are the best. I also hear that tein are coming out with coilovers too. But what are u looking for? Real coilovers or pseudo coilovers that needs struts?

From what it sounds real coilovers would save alot of weight.

Kei Office GU Type

JIC FLTA-2s =p

I dont notice any harshness over springs... actually while my ride is stiffer than any springs I know of, there is less harshness, no bottoming out, no wierd noises (cept a ping every now and then during low speed parking lot manuevers from spring tension...)

there is possible more road noise because there is no rubber parts or mounts... but hey... I'm so used to it anyways...

Yes it is from personal expierence, and notice I didn't use the word "harsh", I said "stiff". The spring rates are a lot higher than "a regular set of lowering springs" and also non-progressive, which makes for a very very firm ride. And as long as you setup the shock rate and shock bumpstop height correctly, they won't be "harsh" at all, but very "stiff"

But don't take my word for it, feel free to get a ride with someone with JICs or Progress coilovers.

I've had H&Rs, Ground Controls, Kei Offices....

and had lots of miles in Sprints, Eibachs, JICs, Progress...

i've always found the coilovers.... to be less harsh

The suspension travel is the most important factor.

Progressive rate bump stops cushion the impacts at the end of travel better than the OEM ones.

I don't have them installed but I e-mailed Cheston (Chebosto) since he was so impressed with the Cattman setup. I told him I had a chance to get the JICs for just a few hundred more than the Cattman setup and he said to jump on the JICs. So, I'm not sure what his experience is with JICs but I trust Cheston's word when it comes to handling as he's a great driver and has done a ton with Maximas. Not sure if that helps but it's what I can offer here.

I'm too fed up with my car right now to install them but I've never heard a negative word about the JICs.
