Opinions on cat backs

im going to be ordering a cat back but i cant decide which one i want. i narrowed it down to either greddy or apexi. but i think the greddy one is a little to big of a tip for me. so if anyone could give any info on them i would appreciate it. thanx

Other than reading the FAQs and important threads, you could've also searched... j/k.

Apex'i catback produces a deep, tone, but very managble and not loud. I'm getting one myself. It seems like a refined but sporty catback. But very pricey $400+.

The Greddy I hear is very loud, especially with Y pipe. I think it's perfect for those who want attention. I think I saw a few of them for sale yesterday.

Heard the Greddy SP is a nice catback. The greddy sp2 is coming out soon...u may want to wait. Sp2 is suppose to reduce the "buzzing" sounds from the catback. up to u boss

greddy is not loud at all from what i've heard in person. Just very pricey. I'm a big fan of OBX catback, although a few fitment issues with some of the ones sold on the org, they are 100% stainless steel unlike other catbacks and half the price of greddy and sound similar if not quieter than greddy. Just dont have the 4 or 4.5" tip like greddy. But if u have money for greddy i recommend it.

I have the greddy and I am loving it... not too loud. If you accelerate just right you can even make it silent. The tip fits the hole in the bumper perfectly. I actually think its a little big myself but I'm sure a shop could weld a smaller one on for cheep.

The Greddy IS NOT TOO LOUD. Don't believe someone who hasn't heard it in person. It's louder than the Apex-i but it's a very good tone, not "ricey" or harsh whatsoever. A test pipe might change that though...

I have a MagnaFlow catback exhaust and its sounds nothing like the ricey hondas out there...then again we have V6s. MagnaFlow only cost me about $125 installed too. Although it doesn't have the admired names of Cattman or Stillin, it does do the Maxima justice for sounding good. Not too loud and very deep. At WOT it sounds like the end of the world but most of that sound comes from my intake. Just my 2 cents.

^ You have a magnaflow cat-back?.. or did you mean to say that you have a magnaflow muffler?. Cause there is no such thing as a magnaflow cat-back for any generation of maxima.

I know it's spendy, I know it's a name game, but I heard Stillen in person, and I fell in love...it's definitely what's going on my car, I'm will to spend a few more dead presidents just to get that beautiful sound, and LOW volume...and it looks good too.

Just my $.02

Iilac and Nismo have the Greddy and the Stillen, respectively. I was pretty much stock back then, so I when I heard them start their cars, I was in awe. I really admired the deep sound that both exhuasts made. But I'm stillen getting an Apex'i just for it's looks, modest volume (very important to me), and deep tone.

The tip was bigger than I expected, but nice

Pick out any muffler, then find a good exhaust shop and have them make a custom catback for you.

I have a Ypipe, Budget B w/ resonator and a Borla muffler, and I love it, very quiet, no droning at all, but loud once you get on it.

buy a custom bpipe from budget and a muffler from ebay, that will cost a total of about 220 and you will have more options and have 300 bux in you pocket, meinike will install and weld for like 40 bux
