I need help!!

I have A 97GLE Max and the sunroof won't close completely and it looks horrible with tape on the top... Can anyone suggest were to go to get it if fix under $500?..
I went to the dealer they want $526 just for the parts...

 

Calm down, take a step back and take a deep breath. Do a search on "Sunroof" if you need the info. I also created a rebuild thread to fix the issue. I have a link in my sig also.

Don't take it to the dealer because this will cost you literally $50 to fix this yourself. $526 for parts, the dealer has a nerve. Do you hear the motor running when you try to open and close the sunroof?

 

Thanks for responding Deezo however, let me give you a little more info.. I did search to see if there was anything in the forums that would help me to avoid being embarrassed before posting.

Unfortunately, they didn't address my issue, you see I had it fixed once and it broke again apparently the track cord can't be repaired... Which is the reason why it needs to be replaced. Yes, the motor still runs. After witnessing the repair process the first time, I don't think I'd like to be the one to have to remove and replace the sunroof...
That why I need some suggestions as to where to get it repaired or replaced.

 

If you are in real trouble, i've got somewhere in my basement a complete unit - it came off a 96 max like 2 years ago, used, but worked fine.

 

The motor is running so everything else is easy. You can get the cable kit and replace it yourself.
