Tips on replacing a cracked windshield
Yesterday, I was on the Pennsylvania Turnpike and there was this really huge rock that hit and cracked my windshield. Since this car is a 1999, would replacing this cracked windshield be under warrantee. If not, how much would it cost to have it replaced by the dealership? I want it to be replaced by the dealeship because there aren't really any good nearby repair shops where I'm living in Delaware. Thanks!

No, glass would not be covered by the warranty as it is not a materials or workmanship defect. It was an accident plain and simple that caused your windshield to be broken. However there is a chance that you automotive insurance policy will cover some if not all of the cost of a replacement windsheild. Check your policy or speak with a representitive from your insurance company. As for the cost of a replacement windsheild i would not know for sure but I can tell you that it was $200 for a replacement for my '84 Monte Carlo SS. The windsheilds for our Maximas are probably more than that but I can not say for certain without calling around myself. I would suggest finding a competent shop that
specializes in automotive glass replacement to do the work. I have even seen advertisements for "mobile" glass replacement companys in my area that will come to your home to do the replacement. Whichever the case, I have been informed that the windsheild should be installed in a controlled environment with a temperature of 70 degrees farenheit and allowed to "cure" for 24 hours for best results.
