Coolant Change?
Coolant Change?
It's time to change the engine coolant.I read the post on motorvate.ca and was told I need to open the "valve" in the heater core, to allow the coolant to drain out of it. And There are two way to do this, depending on the type of climate control you have. Is that special only for the Maxima?
Also this is my first time to change the coolant, pls give me some suggestion?
Thanks a lot.

If you have automatic climate control (ie you set a specific temp on the heater/AC) use the directions in motovate.ca to open the heater valve. If you have a manual heater/AC system, turn the heater temp selector to the maximum hot setting, and select heat through the dash vents to open the heater valve.
You'd probably want to run a cleaner in your coolant prior to flushing out the old coolant to ensure you get all the rust and scale out of the system
