New clutch, fidanza flywheel and diffential bearings
It's been almost a month since I have driven my car. Finally got it back from the shop today. Like the title says, New clutch(OEM) and Fidanza flywheel intalled. Also replaced my differential bearings, which was the whole reason the car was down in the first place. Got a look at the bearings they pulled out. They were completely toasted, almost to the point of total failure. I thought it was only my dirvers side that were bad, but both sides were tore up.
The whole thing cost right at $2000, but it was well worth it. My car has never driven better. It feels brand new.
I can definately feel the lighter flywheel, revs noticeably quicker. Still breaking the clutch in so I can't give a real good review of how much I like the flywheel yet, but if anyone is thinking about this mod I would talk to Jeff92se. He has the flywheels for a great price and he is a top notch seller.
No chatter(not that there should be) and the clutch has been smooth as silk so far. Very happy. It pays to search for the right shop. Certified Transmission, where I got the work done, are great. They have done work for a few other Illinois org members. Bejay1 had his 01 AE VSLD tranny installed there on his 97. Great place.
Now I just need to get my VI working againg, I think it's the vaccum canister and hopefully JWT will get my ECU to me in the next year. It's going on 9 weeks. Let's just say I am less than happy with Jim Wolf.
