radiator fluid mismatch/woes

I recently purchased a 1996 Maxima, and I'm trying to correct a few wrongs by the previous owner. The only one I need help with is I was wondering what you guys put in your aluminum engine for radiator coolant. Is it green or is it orange? I've been told I should flush out the green completely and then put in the orange, but others disagree, so I thought I'd bring it to the owners. Thank you so much for any help!

Orange coolant is known as Dex-cool. It is a long-life coolant that supposedly doesn't need to be flushed, ever. It is incompatible with green coolant and if you mix them they will form a gel and you have yourself a big problem. Just stick to the regular green coolant, and don't forget you need to mix it with water. If you think you can flush your system really well and think the dex-cool is what you want, go for it. Good luck either way.

Dex-Cool may not be compatable with all the seals in our cooling system. DONT USE IT!
