I've been having some problems starting my car lately. Lately it doesn't turn over right away I have to crank it and it putters a little then it turns over. Happens sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. But last I cranked it and it puttered then it just died, then I try cranking it again and it didn't crank. Waited a little bit and cranked it and it was fine. So I'm thinking its teh starter.

My plugs were changed about 30-35k miles ago and fuel filter changed about 20k miles ago probably. Gonna change both again next weekend. But I don't think this is the problem cause the car wouldn't even crank. I also have an Optima battery and I don't think thats the problem because all the lights and everything still works but no cranking.

Any other suggestions?

How much is a new starter and where should I get it from? How hard or easy is it to install? I haven't check my Haynes about it yet, going to do so right now.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
