Buy a 4th gen?

I'm considering buying a 97 SE 5spd. But what I really want is something:
4 doors
rear wheel drive
over 200hp, possibly able to get close or more than 300hp without new engine
good reliability
good looking.

Know anything? If you had the chance to put the money you paid and invested in your 4th gen, what kind of car would it be?

yeah same here(97-99 4th gens are the best).....you should be able to get all of those requests filled with a good 4th gen(well except RWD and over 200hp stock), 4th gen's have plenty of potential if ya have good money to invest in one. I believe(key word believe) that I have seen 4th gens on car domain sites containing 350hp with VQ's in them. They look good (in many peoples' opinion, they are the best looking outta all the maxes) and they can easily go over 200k. (They are in the class of cars with some of the highest potential and reliability as a matter of fact)!

first choice:Max
otherwise a pontiac GTP is pushing 240 hp stock and is already s/c.
but its front wheel drive and the s/c might cut reliability at higher mileage

Lexus GS400, but prepare to spend a lot, or IS300, same deal, some Bimmers, other then that, come down, spend less money, get as good or better reliability, and then mod the heck out of it, and still have money left over!!!!!

get a max ... 97-99 of course.. like someone stated above most people love this body the most. you can also do a lot with it. i heard of someone doing a rear wheel drive conversion (never saw it so i cant prove it) but with money anything is possible anyway. besides that your getting 190 stock... with a nice intake and exhaust your passing 200 easy. plus with the 4th gen there are so many mods u can do now. u can make the car look pretty customed without having to get a honda . another benefit of the max is the logical price. you get a sedan, a sports car and a car with a good name behind it for a reasonable price. just try and find something will low mileage...there are still 99's out there with only 30-40k if you look real hard. some people dont drive there cars much. good luck picking a car... but if u want something logical and an all around good car... go with a max!!!
