Maximum Tuning VB upgrade review (Long)
I went up to New York to get a VB upgrade done in Glen Cove by none other than Jeff Renaldo. First- Jeff is a personable, knowledgeable guy- I'd definitely take any work I wouldn't want to do myself to him- and no one else. This despite the fact that he's 45 minutes from Brooklyn, and I live 4 more hours away, in Washington DC. He got the work done quickly and well, and definitely knew his work and my car.
You New Yorkers ride Maximas HARD. I thought I saw them a lot here in DC, but I was not on a single city block in NYC where I saw less than three. You heard me right- 3 Maximas or more to a city block in at least two boros...
The VB upgrade is a wonderful mod. I chirp my overworn tires very easily between gears, and the shifting is far less ponderous and slow. Not for the faint-hearted, though-- the new VB shifts like a 5 speed, only with 4 long forward gears. You can feel each shift on the way up and on the way down, more so under hard acceleration. So in stop-and go traffic, you'll learn to stay off the gas a lil bit. Definitely recommended BEFORE you attempt any forced induction or any non- NA mods.
Met a couple .org 'ers up there (not to mention the multitude of probable board members I saw drivin around with diamond cut clears
All this just made me love the Maxima phenomenon even more. BrooklynHdz (I probably got ur tag wrong) holla when u see this... I'm interested in the Alpine now that I've seen it... VERY interested.
