Headlights dim when using power windows?

Hey, I was riding in my friends 97 SE and I noticed that when the windows were already up and I used the power window switch to make sure they were all up, the headlights dimmed noticeably.
Am I just being picky since he has a leather interior and I don't? Or is something actually wrong

Usually it's the battery or a weak alternator.

I know if you have 99 (not sure about other years) with Bose there was a higher rated alterantor in the package... Mine has it.

If there's interest I can scan my original window sticker...

This is pretty normal. When you use your power windows, it places a strain on the alternator which in turn causes the headlights to dim. Almost every car I've driven suffers from this condition.

This happened to me, along with the radio cutting off/lights dimming when I hit the brake. I had a bad grounding wire that was not allowing the battery to recharge properly. I fixed the wire and got a Optima Red Top. Now my lights do not dim for anything. I can have my Radio on full blast, wipers going fast, high beams on, and hold all 4 window buttons up and NO DIM!

What ground and where at? I get that when I step 1/4-1/2 inch into the brake pedal and it's getting worse...like when I'm driving around at night, it's very noticeable and pretty annoying.

It might not be your grounding at all. I have a very crazy set of homemade grounding wires all over the engine bay. As long as your stock connections are clean of oil, dirt, etc, they're fine. Try checking your battery voltage instead.

I'm glad the Optima Red Top did the trick. I will definately get this as my next "mod." Thanks!
