newbie : fuel economy

Im new here - hello!!!

Im looking for a new can and I really want a 3.0V6 Maxima (QX in the uk) with some luxury leather seats and the like. I have started to read through the posts and I gitta say - WOW this place is a mine of information!

My one question is about economy of the car. Living in the uk we pay high prices for fuel. Im guessing that the max is very good on high speed runs on the open road and really bad around town. Can I expect 35-35 when taking it carefully and 20 when using the power?

Does anyone know if any uk cars came with a manual gearbox, they all seem to be autos.

For anyone interested, I foun a few uk roads test of the car www.fordscorpio.co.uk/press.htm

uhm u'll get 30 if u drive at 60 mph for an extended period of time, if u drive alot higher than that u'll get alot less u can expect more like 20, and 25 and if u get a manual it will be around 21 and 27
