Stainless ypipe worth the extra $$ ??

Hey guys, im halfway into modding my max, ive started late, so im catching up.

I have so far ordered DC clears, and installed them, An fstb, coming friday, a PR style CAI off ebay, im going to pick up a K&N filter for it soon, And i am about to order a Ypipe.

Just wanted to know if its worth the extra cash for a Stainless Steel Y, does it rust as bad as the alumnized or whatever?

Also who has the best manufactured pipe, i want NO buzzing or other sounds.

Thanks Guys

Umm.... is it me or is their site down?

Im getting a page cannot be displayed error, and i tried pinging that url, but no response. Have to wait till later i guess.

Does everyone agree that budget is up tp same buld qulity as cattman or warpspeed?

I dont mind spending extra $$ now to avoid problems.

IMHO, no.

I assume a non-stainless pipe would last me about 3 or 4 years, even with the North East winters and salt. I paid $400ish for a SS cattman a few years ago. I have no complaints with the pipe, but I just don't know that it was worth it.

No to what? budget isnt quality or SS isnt worth it?

Im leaning toward the Budget as i compare stats, they basically offer the same thing without chrome as others?

I do think stainless is worth it, since i will have this car until the things falls apart... im @99750 or so and im hoping for 180,000 at least. And if y pipe is on the car that long, i dont want it rusting out on me.

No I don't really think its worth it. I've never seen one of Budget's pipes in person.

From what I've learned and know about the Y pipes. I can't see why anyone would buy a Y-Pipe other than Budget's. The only thing I can figure out is if they want a chrome look instead of the black. Other than that you are just wasting your money.

I got my Y-Pipe from Budget and it came painted silver!!!
SS is worth it... If you buy Alumi...whatever they are, make sure you ask for extra KY so it doesn't hurt...

Why is the Budget Y-pipe painted in black? I always wanted to know...

If it was stainless steel and it shows, then they would be selling even more than they are currently now.

I think it just depends on where you live also. I bought a Warpspeed Aluminized MB Y-pipe since I live in California, where it only rains for one season in a year and there is no road salt. Even my original Y-pipe was in good condition when it was taken out of my vehicle. The bolts weren't rusted or seized or anything. I went with Warpspeed because of their good quality, warranty, and guaranteed no bees-in-the-can.
