clutch options

ok im going to install a clutch in the next couple of weeks. I have been told not to go with act due to the chatter and also the problems with damaging transmissions. I have searched and cant find some real opinions as far as other clutch options.

so I need some advise as far as other options, I will just have basic bolt ons so just want a stage 1

1) go back with stock
2) jwt
3) centerforce
4) exedy
5) clutchnet

i am going to be using a spec stage 2 in my maxima in the coming weeks (will be turbo in near future). spec clutches are great, very very soft pedal pressure like stock and great holding power...

couple of members here can do them.. also i think instructions might be in the FAQ on how to do them..

ericdwong does them.. matty does them.. and sx7r does them.. its just if they will do them for you... i heard it isn't htat hard.. you just get the stock mounts.. mix the poly and hardner.. maybe more.. and then let them cure..

I would consider getting a Fidanza Billet aluminum 11.8 lb flywheel while your in there. See me sig for details. I had a chance to drive Mtrai's 4-gen w/ the Fidanza and new clutch. Reved real nice. Drivability was excellent.

Its really not, but its a matter of time. Idealy you'll let the poly set ("dry") for about 4 or 5 days. If you can't be without your car for that long, then you'll have to buy different mounts to use and do them ahead of time.

maxdrvr847, if you're not boosted or using nitrous, get a stock (non key value) clutch. They are more than enough for NA power. There are several members who beat on them reguarly (me, Dave B) at the track and they don't slip.

i agree with that
my stock clutch has 65k km on it...(not much) but its still going strong and has yet to slip
im probably gonna go with a stock clutch when my current one dies.
