It was raining today and the car just kinda cut off and i could not steer it from hitting a curb. It was not a total blow. I probely hit is at a 30 degree angles about 35mph and i hit it once. I did not bust my tires or anythign but after about 30 miles an hour it makes thumping noises. Could the noise ber from the rim bent, or would it be some supsention stuff or whatever. I am kinda scared to find out! I know i badly Need An Alingment! What could go wall go wrong with not a really hard blow.
I just hit a curb about 2 weeks ago. My car has 72,000 mile son it with original struts, both of the ones in the front blew out and tire blew. It makes like a clunking noise when you slow down or go over bump, then it is shocks, I am not what a bent rim sounds like. It cost me 500 dollars to fix, 355 for 2 struts and 2 shocks, 60 for boots, and 80 for strut mounts and bearings(You can get the strut mounts and barings at auto zone, the same parts at the nissan dealer are 160.00 dollars compared to 80.00. I just got them installed today. Its a *****!!!

I'm nutty for Nissans
ooo my buddy just did the samething... broke the rim and bent the lower control arm and wishbone (1998 eclipse) his caster is off by 2" and has tow out. you may have done the same kind of damage, but not as bad since you were at an angle. Id take the wheel off and inspect the tire, rim, lower a arm (or control arm, whatever its called), tie rod, and sway bar.
i kwo the rim is messed up. That will be replaced. I am just really worried about the supension parts.

How does steering feel? After I hit a curb in the winter at an angle my control arm got messed up and that's about it. Get that checked out ASAP.
ok I found what happened, i needed an amignment realy bad. and i bent my steering Knuckle which they said it will be about $350 to replace. Does this sounds right??? I need new rims cause the rim is cutting into teh tirs, but i was buying new rims this month anyway. Mila Miglia actions here i come!

$350...does that include the alignment? If it doesn't then it sounds about right. If it does include the alignment, I'd say it's a great price.Originally posted by ManualMaxima

I slammed into a curb at 30 MPH after being cut-off royally, plowing into a lane under construction, mowing down 4 orange cones and nearly hitting the working crew by 20 feet. Me and the crew were all ****ed at the guy who cut me off, but he had no idea he did it. My car was fine for 14 months and now there is a lot of grinding/rubbing noise from my side that hit the curb. I lifted up the front and wiggled the wheel and noticed some play. I think my wheel bearings are gone.
