How to clean my filter......HELP

OK whats up y'all. My friend took off the bottom part of the "air-box" where the air filter sits, right? He put a K&N filter in it's place. He was in a hurry and just TAPED it down the middle on the air box and filter! I know I'm losing some air trying to get in my "intake". PLus I need ot clean it. How do I clean my intake? just run it under water and let it dry? and What would be a better fastener for the filter. We junked the bottom part of my airbox. I was thinking about those plastic ties. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT. Thanks

-Ryan

Go buy the K&N recharge kit to clean and recharge the filter you have oh so ghetto rigged onto your car right now.

Next time, buy a proper intake system.

to clean the filter, get the k&n filter recharger kit. It comes with cleaner and oil. Just follow the directions. You spray the cleaner on it then let it sit, then spray it off with H2O, then once it has dried you re-oil it. After the oil has set up you can put the filter back on.
