I would suggest the Tokicos blues up front and the KYB AGX in the rear for adjustability of the handling. Also, add an RSB and you're car will handle and drive about 3 times better than it is now. If you plan to lower your car use H&R springs to get the best ride/handling combo. Also, you should get motovational rear mounts if you're going to lower the car.

Good luck

If you are using the stock springs, Tokico blues all around should be just fine (and least expensive, I believe), and should give you closest to stock SE setup.

KYB shocks tend to be more stiff than Tokico's in both adjustable and non-adjustable ones.

I just got GR-2's all around last week with stock springs on my 97 max. I use the car for daily commute to work and the car drives great now. It gives me lots of support and stiffness on smooth roads and great dampening and smoothness on rough roads. These are definately stiffer then the stock SE. I would say its a pretty good setup

I appreciate all the info guys!!
I want to keep it stock, not lowering.
So the tokico hp's" these are the tikico blues? right?" are a softer ride than kyb gr-2's???

I want to keep the original springs,,,the springs should be okay, right?

also what is an rsb,,,is that a brace?

thx

1)You cannot use motovational mounts with GC's.
2)I'd be looking at a completely new suspension if I were you, not just new struts.

Eibach Springs coupled with KYB's will give you the same great handling, a nice drop and a ride that doesn't rattle your car apart.

Yes Tokico Blues ride softer then KYB GR2's. They will give you that new car feel back.

Your spring should be fine but there are other items on your suspension that must likely need replacing.
1) Dust Boots on each shock
2) Sway Bar end link bushings are prolly all crushed by now too
3) Replace or repack your front strut bearings when you change your struts.
All these items can be ordered from Courtesy Nissan or your local dealer.

A RSB is a Rear Stabalizer Bar. There are a few companys that make them. Search around on here for more info. Addco is my personal favorite. You can also buy a FSTB - Front Strut Tower Brace off Ebay for about $35 bucks. It's a bar that supports your strut towers and give the chassis a more ridgid(sp?) feel. Well worth the $$$$.

With all those items changed, added, modded, your car will have a fantastic ride and will handle much better too.

I had a set of GC's off a 5th gen. If I remember correctly there is a cone shapped bushing that fits up into the stock mount. MV mounts are flat thus wount work with the GC setup.

I'm going by memory here.....

The bearings, yup those and proper spring seating is key to a silent setup.
