you have to remove the whole dash to get it out since its held in by screws on a bracket. you first need to remove the dash trim cover thats over your shifter and also take off the top air vents and you will see the screws to remove the dash

so the cover around the shifter should pop righ tout or is there screws to that to and the top air vents are connected to the air condidtionar controls so that whole unit has to come out or do the vents just pop out

the shift cover pops up- you have to pull up from the bottom part first. the air vents also pop out and what I do is use a screwdriver to pry on the middle of the top of it and it should pop out. once you get those off then you can remove the ash tray and the only thing holding the dash is 4 screws- 2 on top and 2 on the bottom.

Buy a Haynes Manual... the pictures are invaluable and you can use it for help with other things as well. EVERYONE should have one, or a comparable product. They are around 12 bucks on sale.

actually now I remember you need to unscrew everything off the bracket meaning you need to take off the flip drawers, DINs, ect because the bracket is kinda made in a way that everything snaps on together even if there are no screws.

Yes, a stubbie with a fat end works best(not a pointy end) because it's short and your hand doesn't wobble at all when you turn it, unlike a longer screw driver there's more play and you tend to strip the philip head. Just apply a steady grip and push down hard as you turn it. Also a little WD 40 helps too, but use just a dab of it. You can spray it on a cotton swap and apply it on the screws.
