This may sound crazy..

but.. for some reason yesterday on my way back from Eagles Training Camp in Bethlehem PA to Philadelphia (about 50+ miles) I noticed my odometer stopped counting (it was at 89972 when I left and when I got home it was at 89974)! I'm not sure if this is common or not but I've never heard of anything like this happening to any car! The only thing I did different this ride from any other was use the cruise control. Does anyone have any ideas before I shell out endless cash to a dealer for repair?

The only thing I can tell you is:
Don't take it to the Dealer to fix it. They will charge and Arm, a Leg, and a *****. Instead look for a whole new cluster from ebay with around or close to the same miles as your car.

Update: For some reason when I start the car and drive it counts for 2-5 miles. After that it stops counting. If I can't find a quick fix I'm going to have to drop it off at the dealer.

Space-time continuum? My '96 GXE did the same thing, but only with the trip odometer. The regular odometer was fine. I never figured mine out before she was gone....
Could it possibly be a sending unit? Or maybe a loose ground?
Have you noticed any patterns with it, like doing it more during wet weather, going over bumpy roads, etc...

Checks your haynes amnual for the wiring diagram - see if you can figure out why your speedo is still registering but your ODO isn't - it has to eb a problem between the odo and the point where the VSS signal seperate.

make sure you keep record of it being fixed, like recipt and all. if you sell the car some time down the road, and you get charged with odometer fraud, you are screwed! so make sure you keep records so you can prove it was a car malfunction, if anyone asks
