$15 intake from Lowes

OK I'm sure most of y'all know about the intake you make yourself with plumbing parts from Lowes, Home Depot, etc. Is it really better over stock? I have a hacked airbox and was considering it. But is it worth the time to make? Will I have improved gains or just a loud a$$ intake? Thanks

you do lose low end, but a catback will give it back. I have home made intake and midpipe and apex'i catback, it is a good combo

a catback will actually make you lose some low end power if you use a larger diameter B pipe over stock

True. I got a home made intake, budget Y-pipe, Apex'i WS cat-back and my low-end, until 2000rpm IS WEAK. I mean I can still screech my tires with just a blip of the throttle but I feel kinda scared that my low-end is making my car slower. It's not a good feeling...

I have the homemade intake with k&n filter, it pulls awesome up top when the car is cold.....but that is about it, when the car warms up it just sucks in hot air and feels pretty slow. Tonight I put my stock intake back on and it feels so much better in the low end. Couldnt really tell the diff up top.
