Sylvania "Cool Blues" suck!

I just got some Sylvania cool blues for the max and they are the same dull yellowish color as the stock headlights...Any suggestions on others that are more blue/white, but nice???

I have them on my car and I don't see what you are seeing. Infact it's an improvement over the stock bulbs.

if you want a ricey blue bulb, check out Naxos or Nokya bulbs on ebay... be careful of burning your wiring harness though

Don't buy ricey bulbs at all. They'll burn out in a couple of weeks.

Ok, but I really do like a really clean white look to the headlights...are there any other brands that won't burn my harness, like those Xtravisions or the phillips brand???

I have these blubs called XD3 and they work great. They are mostly white with a tint of blue. Ive had them for over 6 months now and still working. Even though they are 80/100 Watt, ive had no problem with melting the harness or blowing up my car (fingers crossed). Infact they run cooler than my piaas. Their new versions came out (XD5)and they werent so expensive so i did a comparison. I took some pics for some other people...so ill paste the link.

The picture suxs cause of my $50 camera!!

Blueish light actually reduces road visibility at night. People do perceive it as an improvement only because they see everything in blue instead of the yellow halogen. In the rain, visibility is even worse and totally unsafe. You can look cool but looking cool isn't everything.

I just want a clean look, not looking to be a show off, and that tan light just looks dirty. There has to be something out there that performs well. I just looked at them again, at full dark and they look better.

I love my Cool Blues also and they last a long time (years). Mine are nearly white and I get people flashing their brights at me. You must really want something bright bright white.

XD5's sound good, but i'm guessing that theyre either not gonna last too long, and/or burn out your wiring harness...check out this from one of XD5's eBay autcions -
H4(=9003): 1500 days/15 minutes per day (low beam). 1000 days/10 minutes per day (high beam)

i think the xtravisions are the same color as stock, 3800k in temp.....is it possible to get a bright white light AND add more lumination on the road while keeping the stock wattage? HIDS doesnt apply, im only talking about bulbs

^ Not really. I was driving in the rain tonight with my Naxos and I basically couldn't see a da.mn thing. I hope I can still find HIDs for sale in a few weeks.

My CoolBlues are definitely an improvement over stock...and they don't look blue like Silverstars do.

Get HIDs...that's the only way you'd be happy.

I took my cool blues back, I was not happy with the output. They looked basically stock, and visibility was about the same. I have the eurolite fusions now, and I have been happy with them so far. They are bright and give off a bluish tint, and I have not had problems with them in the rain.

Silverstars don't look blue at all. They have a greyish tint to the capsule that makes then shine whiter than any bulb that I've seen.

I got my eurolite's from cartoka.com...they were about 22 or so for the pair. They only took two days to get to me from Washington State and I am in VA.

A ran Silverstars for about 2 days and now they're sitting in my garage. The light output is very poor compared to Cool Blues.

I have had eurolights on my car for a while, a friend of mine told me how much nicer the sylvania were, so i bought a set. Those suckers went right back to the store. they are not bright enough for me. I like my eurolights.

HID is the way to go!! Im gonna get the 6000K ones and aim my headlights like 2" lower. All these halogens/kryptons cant compete. Plus, they last longer and cops in my area dont reli care.

You better move fast. HID kit may be illegal for sale in a few days. When I had my Hanabi 6000K kit, I focused them lower and there was still too much glare and green in color as seen in my sig below.

I sold them to get a high quality kit from Catz. Do your research here: www.hidforum.com

thanks deezo...ill look into it...I heard the date was Aug 15 or 16. But I think they are bluffin...its not that easy to ban something that quick. Remember they wanted to ban radar detectors, well i still have one... and everytime i pass a cop they see my valentine but no one has pulled me over to this date. We need a new/better headlight housing made for HIDs. Someone better start working on it cause if I can pay 400 for HIDs, i might as well pay somemore for better housings.
