Guys are the rear defrost button and hazard light button supposed to illuminate when you flip on your parking or headlights? Thanks it's regarding a '97.

Ok I just found out that they are supposed to illuminate but mine aren't. I just recently today had a headunit, sub, and amp installed, and I check to make sure that everything was plugged in and it was, what can it be please help .

is everything else lightning up ok when you turn on yoru headlights? did they connect the illumination wire or the dimmer wire on your deck when installing it? if they connected the wrong wire it is possible that it is back feeding, or is harming your illumination circuit (yes there really is one)

My defroster button isn't illuminating. I think I broke it when I was fighting to remove the defroster clip during my ambient temperture button install. Anyway, is it just a bulb, what size, and how do I get to it? It is getting me angry and want to tackle this repair asap.

Yes everything else is illuminating just fine it's just those two buttons that are not illuminating I doubt the bulbs went out, and I'm sure it's just a connection issue. There are three harnesses behind that portion of the dash, they are all connected. Which other harnesses should we check out? Thanks guys.

bulbs

if they are the same as most Radio Shack has them. Tiny little bulbs with long wires coming out. Take the switch apart, you'll see how to install them and trim the leads. Make sure you get the 12v bulbs. They do have them, well, they do here in VA

Getting the switches apart is never going to happen, well not mine.

I have replaced bulbs in my 93 max and a 92 legacy. It's a hassle but a cheap and effective way to do it.
