Max Alternators Cost How Much??????!!!!!!!!!!

Just had my alternator bearings go bad, making low whine in engine. Told by a couple of places that for a rebuilt one, trade in old alt =$300.00!!!!!!!!!! What the? I used to have an old toyota that cost 50 bucks for a trade in alternator! What's the deal on that? Luckily, Im still on warranty, so the dealer is doing it for free tomorrow.

I bought an alternator online for 160 bucks. I'm sorry I don't have the link but do some searching and you should find a better price.

Was there ever a TSB issued for the Maxima alternator? If so, what were the specifics?

a tsb and a recall are different things. The recall was for '98 I think...

It was for 1997 and 1998 models...not all cars, but within a certain VIN range. Not sure of the specific VIN's that were covered.

CRAP as in your car may have been applicable for the recall and you didn't do it? If so, Nissan may still refund you the cost of replacing it if you can get them your receipt.
