Eibach to Intrax

What a difference!!! Problem is that a week later my 19's are hitting the fender. My tires are all cut up. Seems like everything just decided to drop today. I have a 15mm spacer on the rear. Hopefully removing it will solve the prob. If not I'll have to bang out the fender.

One finger gap now.

So which spring handles better. I've got Intrax and they don't suit my taste in driving dynamics, but like the drop.

The Eibachs feel and handle better. The Intrax look better but are a bit bouncy. My GR2's are only about 4 months old and I really don't like those too much either. What would be better? I like to feel the road but not sound like a bomb going off when I go over road seams. Maybe I should go 18". DC streets are the worst.

GR2s are stock replacements in my opinion what type of performance handling are you going to get out of those shocks? they are not even adjustable

To tell the truth, I purchased Intrax because I was told they are the closest thing to factory with that nice 1.75 drop all around. But when I paired them up to some KYB AGX's it seems like that gives me the performance out of the springs. My suspension to me is stiff and I have every corner set on 1 which is the softest setting on the KYB AGX. Like Jay25 said, you may need to get some better struts. Step up to the AGX's with the Intrax and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

If you ever had a GR2 and a stock or even a Tokico Blue in your hands you could see and feel that the GR2 is valved no where close to a stock replacement. It's much fimer then a stock shock or a Tokico Blue shock. They ride completely different as well. KYB says they are valved similar to AGX's at a mid point setting. They dampen agressive springs such as Eibach, Progress, Maxspeed or H&R's very nicely.

If you don't need adjustability, GR2's are an excellent choice for a firm controlled ride on a lowered vehicle.

I had both struts in my hand just not at the same time, I didnt bother to test the rebound because those are not the type of struts Id want in my car. My complaint is not ride comfort thats out the window is looks and handling thats the purpose of dropping the car.

Well I think since he has a soft spring he should get the AGX so he can get the stiffer ride he wants. Or he can just go back to the Eibachs.

Isn't it true that you can lower the car too much and it becomes very unstable at higher speds???

^ Maybe if you heat your stock springs or cut some coils, but on the highway, a very low setup (high spring rates) with good struts will be incredibly stable.
