MEVI is on

Took me about 5 hours from start to finish. Only thing that really kinda stuck me for a minute was the left side back coolant hose. Thats about the only trouble I had except for this... DO NOT USE WIRE TAPS. They kept making the harlan switch go off and on because of bad ground/power. So I took care of that and it is working great. Car just dives to 7k so smoothly now. The JWT really takes over to 7k so nicely. The EGR was almost all the way clogged up, so I got a flathead and cleaned it out. Car sounds totally different at idle and well of course past 5k. I got a new TB, IACV, and EGR gasket from nissan for $7. Now I think I will work on putting a LED inside my car to tell when it is kicking in. Thanks to Requin6(Paul), Iansw (Ian), and JAY25 (Jaime) for all your help. I know I probably bothered a few of you at work, but thanks for all the help.

Do it yourself. All it takes is basic hand tools. Go buy a $15 Chiltons manual and learn everything you need to about the car. Have a local Max owner help you during install.

LED is installed in my car right beside the dimmer switch. I wanted a blue one, but had to settle with red because thats all Radio Shack had. Are our tachometers off?

A little. I can go a tad past an indicated 7300rpms on my 7200 rev limiter in 2nd. 1st gear seems to be the most off and it gets better from there.

Mine is set a 5k and tach is reading like 5300ish when the LED lights up.

From the latest track results it seems 5300 or even 5400 is the best setting. Neal was averaging 1 mph higher traps at 5400 than 5200. I was going to do some of my own testing at the track last tuesday but I only got 3 runs in

Well from 30 dynos I heard 5k is the best...But I will try 5400.

What I was saying in my above post is that I have it set on 5k and the tach reads 5300 when the LED lights up.

I know what you were asking, but I don't have an LED hooked up to my harlan so I used my rev limiter explanation to show how our tachs are a bit off.

That's normal for it to seem to lag behind like that. The whole process of the of the vaccume opening up the butterfly valves, the needle on the rpm gauge moving around like a rocket and the tach being off makes it seem like that. I trust the signal from the coil pack over my what my tach reads.

I just went for a drive and in 3rd gear the tach is reading 5400 rpms when the LED shows the harlan is kicked on.

One thing was nice about my install. I don't have an evap system, so I did not have to worry about mounting it.

As I recall, I used loctite blue on the first batch.

Noone has complained - I just used loctite red this time to be even more sure.

I don't want anyone to try and hold me responsible for issues people have had with the kits from other sellers.

Slowly but surely mu closet mods are being installed. I was going to do it Saturday but I'm on 24 call this week with my job until Monday. I don't want to get called in with the manifold off. Either way it's going on soon as I can get some free time from the family and work.

No Ian that is not what I meant, I would not hold you responsible for anything. I was just curious if you did when you assembled mine.
Thanks

How long did it take you guys to pull out all the EGR and vacuum hoses out of the way? Any tips on what to do and the most systematic and probably quickest way to get the stock plenum off? Also how to keep tabs on what vacuum tubes go to where? Any heads up would be appreciated.
