Well last night i was on the north Dalton Bypass in GA and i was running about 60mph and i switched lanes tot he inner one from the out outter one. Right when i got in the lane I saw a dog jump over the yellow line into my car. I pulled opver and my front right bumper right under the light next to the headlights (cornering light) well right under there it put a huge dent and tore it and knocked out and broke my clear sidmarkers. Also where the plastic bumper meets the metal part of the car put a huge dent in that.. So now when you look at my car from the front the right side looks like it has been bent out away from the hood. I am soooo pisssed.

I feel so bad about the dog i really do. But you asked hows the dog, i would say i was hitting about 60 and it basically jumped into my car....it died. What kinda aftermarket bumper you mean and what would an after market one look like?

I had to get a new rear bumper a little while ago....the guy at the body shop said he uses OEM body stuff from nissan because the after market stuff is barely cheaper.

You should pay to burn the dog instead spend the bumper.

You dog killer! BASTARD!!!

maybe cuz i am...

studying to be a vet tech that this pisses me off. basically a life was lost here. did you check to see it had tags or contact highway safety that there was a potential road hazard on the highway, ie. a body? if it was a family pet there could be a family worried sick, or grieving over the loss of their pet right now. you don't have to leave your name to do the right thing, and if you just wanted to save your ***, its the same principle. 25 cents won't kill you to call from a payhone. maybe i am weird to think of all life as equal, a life was lost here, and honestly your damage isn't equal to a life lost. i hope you did the right thing.

a dog getting hit at 60 is the equivalent of a person getting hit by a bus. internal hemmorage, broken bones galore, massive skin loss from being dragged under the vehicle or hitting asphalt at 60 MPH...etc, plus the nice things that happen to dogs and cats that get hit, nails ripped out from the root because of impact, eyes popping out, not being able to yell out in pain as they get run over. i hope the poor thing died on impact.

as for your car clear sigs and sidemarker sets go for about 40 bucks and the body damage is variablebut probobly won't cost you that much, (< 250?). as for the cover, i think nmexmax meant a bumper cover like many people get from the dealer, or the aftermarket ripoffs which look similar, but that would be pointless if you want to get the damaged repaired.

good luck with the car, i hope you get it back quick. i am sure you tried everything to avoid the animal that was possible,or atleast hope you did, but your first and second post don't really seem to show any real remorse.(i mean am i wrong here?) i know many people will think i am wrong, and a few will agree with me, but this is my opinion, don't take it personally, and besides i am an animal nut so people expect me to take things involving animals to heart.

besides, everyone knows a good bodyshop to get a good price, and if you don't, someone you know does.

I totaly agree with what you said, I am a animal nut too.

Another cheaper alternative is to put a bra on your max, it would cover all the damage up I think. Or check the sites I told you previosly.

I'm sorry about the animal and your damaged vehicle. It could have been much, much worse, though: A couple years back, one of my work associates hit a deer that proceeded to come right through his windshield and land in the front seat beside him. The injured deer landed on its back, and thrashed about *like you can't believe* as it tried to escape. My associate was nearly torn to ribbons by flying hooves until he could stop the car and get out. The deer, which was bleeding profusely, finally got out of the car through the open door, and headed for the woods. It expired within view about 10 seconds later. What a bad day!

i DID WHAT I COULD.

There was no avoiding it. i crossed into he lane and right when i did it jumped over the yellow line i di dnot see it nor did the truck in front of me. As if it came ouit of no where. I did check its tags all it had was a rabies tag. i do feel bad we are going to put my dog to sleep its blind and def and can not walk. But anyway for you people who think i am a bad person there you go.
