What!?!? Why?

Isn't the purpose of having a sunroof to look out into the sky?

I have mine tinted too, but it's at 20%. If you wanted it that dark, why didn't you just opt not to get a sunroof? Isn't that what the shade slide for?

I think it's a good idea. I have a black GLE with black leather interior and it gets REALLY hot down south sittin in the sun. I got my windows tinted with 25 VLR hoping it would make the heat stay out during the hot days but it only helped a little. I told the guy not to do the sunroof but I now regret it. I was planning on getting the same tint on my sunroof in a month or so when it gets real hot again. Besides, how often do u look out to gaze at the stars? I'd rather not burn my *** on the seat anymore.

I tinted mine 2 years ago with one layer of 20%. It really reduced the heat (I have black leather and live in New Orleans) but still lets enough light through that I can see out of it at night.

I've heard some comments on this forum taht you shouldn't tint the sunroof because the heat buildup could cause the glass to break. I haven't had any such problems, and we live with 8 months of summer.

what kind of interior do u have Str8Maxin? I just thought that the black interior would be too hot when it gets warmer, but i do agree maybe 2 layers of 5% is too much. I'll probably see if i can peel 1 layer off or do it all over again.

I have black leather. When you guys say, "it gets too hot"...isn't that why the slide sheid is there (to act like the roof of the car).

when i say it's too hot, i am saying that i want some light to come in. But nissan doesn't tint the sunroof, even a slight tint would be bareable. Therefore it get hot in my car, with the black leather. i don't even use the sunshade because i like to keep the sunroof open for some light but the heat sometimes is unbareable, imo...

See, I really don't have a problem with it. I just put the shield up when I park the car, then open it up when I'm driving.

7% tint all around the Max, including the sunroof. It's great for those days when the suns directly over head(which is every afternoon)

no tint on my sun roof. I just close the sun shade during the day.
i was wondering though if any of you guys came up with a fix for all the rattles around the sunroof. for me there is a rattle in the front of the sun roof, the actual sun shade has a slight ping when you hit it, and i fixed the rear rattle by stuffing some weatherstripping in between the headliner and the metal piece.
about the sun shade rattle, i notice that the pinging stopped when i put a magazine or something of similar weight on top of the shade. any ideas on how the re-create this with something a little more proffesional looking?

Hehe, cheap nissan's. My mom's 98 camry came with a tinted 20% sunroof and its shield is much higher quality then ours is. Anyway I had mine tinted with 15% reflective tint to reflect all the heat outta my sunroof. I can still see outta it though.

tint....

works great to reduce heat while still letting in some light for the front windows...so that the 5 0's dont pull me over for front tint...

Yo, I have no idea what your talking about. I have a 97se and have never heard noise from the sun shade. Is it only when you have the system up?

No doubt! I have 20% metallic tint (slightly reflective) and I was thinking of tinting the front with 35%...but the "fifties" got me scared. In Atlanta, their just looking for an excuse to pull you over.

it's kinda wierd. just tap the sun shade with your finger a couple times. I hear a small rattling sound. I usually hear it when going over big bumps or long stretchs of rough road. maybe it's just my max.
