Stalling after normal/hot operating temp

Just purchased a 96 Maxima GLE with only 65K miles. Car runs great except after driving it for about 40 minutes around town. There is a noticable stumble/shutter upon acceleration (intermittant) and upon deceleration, the RPM drop to the floor and the car stalls. After it stalls it will start right back up with no problem, run ok for a little bit and the problem reoccurs.

Brought it to the shop, they diagnosed it as dirty plugs. They said that they didn't get any error codes (don't believe them 100%)

Since I'm not a Maxima expert, yet. Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks

Clean your throttle body and IACV.

A full tune up might be in store as well.

Dirty plugs?

I did clean the throttle body. Excuse my stupidity but what's an IACV?

Thanks

Thanks, Awesome link.

I'll give it a try. btw- where is the IACV located? Couldn't find a photo.

Also, could the coolant temp sensor be a culprit as well?

Thanks, again, for your response. I really appreciate it!

You might also have a bad engine coolant temperature sensor.
