recovered stolen car, now got some Q's

ok I recovered my car earlier today... they pretty much stripped it of EVERYTHING that I put except my shocks/struts/springs.....

I have damage on my rear driver side passenger door, pretty good scratch and big dent which ruined the side molding... They popped out the key cylinder from my trunk which left a nice sized hole there... They ripped off my wing, so theres a few more holes on the trunk.. The wing I cna bolt back when I get a new one.. they took my MAF and my popcharger..

ok heres my question.. I would like you guys opinion on a cost of what it would be to fix it.. my entire dash is ripped(where the radio/ac climate **** goes) so i'll need one of those... How much do you guys think it will cost for a decent paintjob(same color PEARL white) ALSO I have a guy who says he'll re-do the entire interior a dif color(black my choice) for about $600-700 and wrap my seats in vinyl or fake leather or some****.. I dont really care much but my interior is MESSED UP it looks like they stepped on it with dirt... and my carpet is kinda ripped from them pulling out rca's under the carpet...... So what do you guys think? Bleh this sucks im not even typing right....

Re: recovered stolen car, now got some Q's

So do you have insurance that covers theft? If so wouldn't they cover the cost to fix it and you just pay the deductible? If not, sorry bro. I would go to a junkyard and get replacement parts. It may take a while but it's a lot cheaper. As for the dents and paint job, i would say for quality work, at least $2000.00 to do the whole car. You could always just fix the dents and go the cheap route and go macco

Sorry to hear that. Damn that does suck. Yeah macco was just the cheap route to go. Pics will probably help us give you a better estimate of how much it will cost. You should start by getting a battery and maf and make sure the car still starts and drives right. Hell ripping out rca cables may have crossed some other wires...I hope not for your sake. I would thoroughly look over the car again.

I've turned my car on it idles and doesn't make noises or much, but it turns right off after I put it in drive or accelerate since the MAF is gone... they didn't rip the rca's off, they couldn't find the damn amp under the seat so they tried to follow the rcas ...

Here's a far fetched idea. How about hooking up with someone who has a dealers license (paying them about $500 of course), go to a dealers auction and purchase a 95-99 max for about 2-3k.
OR
Buy a salvage/907A Max and take parts off of it.

hey s0ber, just wanted to say i'm glad u got your car back and i hope things work out...this happens to the best of us (either theft or major totaled car accident). Atleast u r now exposed to the gayness of cheap f*cks and can adjust your lifestyle to it. I hope you fix your max as cheap as possible. A few people on the org have maxima's they are parting out so definitely look them up bro.

If u can use parts off a 96 Infinity J30, Let me know.
My brother has one. the engine is blown, it has black leather interior, bose radio w/cd (speakers dont sound too good). I can get it for about 250.

Also, I'm willing to donate the front clear lens(brand new), if u need them...

hey s0ber, I was in the same predicament you are in last month. Then before that, 2 years ago...my max was stolen twice. The first time was for a joy-ride, cuz they got a flat tire, and just took anything they could have grabbed on the way...but the second time they took it to a chop shop and stripped everything I had, and ripped everything to shreds getting to it. Both times, my insurance payed for it (2k the first time then 4k this time). The second time they wanted to total it, but I brought it to my uncles shop in NY, and told him to put it back on the road because I owe more on it than what they were going to give me for it. They put everything back to stock. I'm glad to hear you got yours back as well, even though there are some days I say I wish they never found it again.

Glad you got it back. You should seriously think about adding the fuel cut off switch or the gear shifter lock switch. Where and how you got it back ?

sober, hey good to see at least you got it back. why isn't insurance covering it? if you are paying for it out of pocket, look around and see if you can find a salvage max and take all the parts from it or if it just has a blown engine and interior and exterior the way you like it, swap in your engine. i have a buddy who is a car dealer, if you want i can ask him if he can find you a max at auction. try and look at the bright side and use this as an oppurtunity to better your ride.

How/where can you get something like this? i have the club and viper 550esp's, but after reading something like this multiple times in the forum, i am paranoid.
