Stillen or Addco

Just bought my FSTB from Courtesy. Still waiting to get it. Im going to add a RSB. Which is better?? Stillen or Addco?? Addco is about $100 cheaper. Also, planning on doing the install myself, has anyone had any experience with either RSB?

Thanx
D

I'm in the same predicament as you are and can't decide which one. I already have the FSTB installed and hate that friggin body roll so I need RSB real bad.
Anyway, from what I understand is that Stillen is a much nicer unit both in terms of quality and adjustability but it's pricey. The Addco bar is adjustable but not as easily and to the extent as Stillen but is much less $$$.
People seem to like both so the choice is all about how much you want spend.

Correct me if I'm wrong here.

i don't think stillen is worth the slight bit of more adjustability, and as the rsb will help ur body roll a TAD bit, its not really going to take it away that much, it will help handling tho, so its worth it

Stillen is simply stealing. You need to get progress. It’s the same as addco but it has a better side arm bracket that looks like ]. I’m not sure if addco improved their side arm bracket

I have an addco and it works great. I really noticed the difference. The rear of the car seems to follow the front a lot better.

The Progress RSB that CustomMaxima.com offers appears to be exactly like Addco, are you trying to say that this is not so?

I installed a progress group on my car last week...got it through custommaxima. It feels a bit more sturdy through the larger bends. I want to address that with the progress, you might wanna count all your parts, and make sure each one will fit where it should. I was short one bolt from the kit, but Progress Group has excellent customer service, and fast shipped me another. During the install, I found out some of the washers wouldn't fit on the U-bracket that supports the swaybar on the axle beam. A quick trip to the hardware store fixed that. Then there came the brackets for the trailer arms. All I can say is...get bigger, stronger, and thicker washers for the progress kit!!! The washers mine came with are weaksauce...they'll bind up. Oh yeah, be a bit careful about tightening up those bolts that hold the brackets on the trailer arms....they'll bind up easily as well, as I found out. Yeah, my install isn't great after encountering all these problems, so I'm not too happy with it, but I guess it works. Just be prepared.

I installed Progress RSB a couple of weeks ago. The kit was missing 4 washers (3/8"). The hardware seems really well made, especially the trailing arm bracket, 10 times better than the Addco square bolt. All the nuts have nylon lock washers. They are somewhat stiff to turn, but guaranteed not to vibrate loose. Overall I am happy.

They are generally the same. The only different that I saw a 2 months back was the trailing arm brackets. The brackets are tougher.

The post above, I only mention the different of the brackets.

It’s cheaper to purchase a set of plastic ramp and a set a jack stand for security at AutoZone.

already have the plastic ramps for oil changes, but a freind of mine told me to get a hydraulic floor lift also, he said it would be easier to work underneath the car, problem is, I dont trust the darn things. Love my MAX, but dont want to die under it.

Those ramps support 2 tons and the security steel jack stands support 2 tons as well. If you don’t trust it then I have to say don’t use it. Good luck.
