i have a 1996 maxima gxe, I crank my car more than five time before it will start also it sound like is of timing but its not when it start it run fine, the engine was replaced could be any sensor or any ground please help me.

I had the same problem w/ my maxima (no check engine light)took awhile to crank, but after worked fine...it was a huge pain in the *** to fix,

1.) used injector cleaner (not it)
2.) replaced fuel filter (not it)
3.) replaced spark plugs (not it, but helped)
4.) finally hooked it up to a computer and noticed that when it was cranking you are supposed to get a 180 degree crank radius...i would get between 87 and 140...so i thought i would be the crank sensor (not it)
5.) FINALLY contacted nissan and they said that it could be a bad ground inside my transmission (hard to believe)...but $500 later it proved to be the problem
