Does anyone have or ever heard of the automatic transmission filter that carparts.com sells. It's made by b&m. Any opinions on whether to get it or not?

4Gen automatics don't have a real filter. There is a screen but it's not something you would replace.

So is it advisable to remove this screen and clean it and the pan and re-intall it with a new gasket? I'm almost at 60K and will be going to full synthetic ATF soon and installing a tranny cooler. All this in hopes of extending the life of my tranny. Am I on the right track here? I had 100% of the ATF changed about 4K ago for the first time.

Nope. Don't drop the pan. Your planned fluid change and cooler are good ideas. Aside from this, the best thing you can do is drive sanely.
