Two 5-spd Transmission Questions

I have a 1995 Maxima SE with a tranny that is shot.

1) Is there any company that makes an entirely beefed up 5-spd transmission for the Maxima? (one that will even take the ACT stage 1 clutch and not rip gears apart)

2) My 95 SE is from the US (no LSD). I am in Canada however, and have an opportunity to get a VLSD 5-spd tranny. Can I just swap it out like that or are there any additional things that I need to do?

Thanks.

Yes, but I think you may need a shorter passenger axle.

I'm assuming you have a 5spd? You could get a shop to bulletproof it for you. (rebuild it as well, of course)

Outside of getting the VLSD tranny, driver side axle and passenger side axle and bolting it all up, is there anything else that I need to get or is there anything else that the tranny shop should know?

Thanks!

Just check the tranny over while it's out. It'll only take a few minutes to open it up and look at everything. Check the clearances, and look for wear. (make sure they use the clearances from Nissan)
