help with the EGR system

Hey guys, I just pulled up an EGR System Hi/Low Flow code on my max and was wondering if anybody knew what would be causing a problem with the Exhaust Gas Recirculation system? Bad exhaust? Or something messed up with the EGR valve? Does anybody know where this is located?
thanks a bunch.

its easy...the egr is like a bell....under the maf-manifold, theres two, the egr valve and Bpt valve...both you can see some hoses coming from them...so take the hose and inspect each one.

You should test it yourself.

Wear some leather gloves and reach under the diaghram and rev the engine. If it moves up and down, then your EGR valve is working fine.

OK, so after checking for codes the first time I've had no CEL, so I checked for codes again today any only came up with an 0505, which is nothing... So now im kinda wondering if there is still a problem or not.
Can someone please describe better, where the actually valve is? Is it above or under the throttle body? is it metal disk?

thanks so much

You can't see it move up and down because it's under the metal disc. You have to feel the bottom side of it, basically. You can't see it at all.

That's wierd, I have the same problem, My CEL just went on and I got the same EGR System Hi/Low Flow code so I reset the ECU and then it gave me the 0505 code which is nothing. So then I reset it again it gave me 0505, did it one more time and then it went away...I drove around the block for a little bit and hasn't come back yet...

hmmm...should do that at about 2500RPM.

You should at least manually be able to push it up and down. If not, then that's not the EGR....(There's something else down there that looks like the EGR, but isn't....I forget what it is right now)
