When I removed the Bose system in my 2000 SE, there were no amps within the door speakers. All the speakers and subwoofer were all ran off of one amp mounted in the trunk. I know from the earlier generation Bose systems, each speaker had its own amp running independently from one another. If I were you, I would try to see if it works anyway, but I highly doubt it, because the wiring within the radio may be different, making it somewhat hard to figure out because of Ohms issues and other factors.

The 2000 model wont work, but the 1999 model will. I have a 98 I30 and am running the 99 model radio. There are slight differences between the 97-98 radio and the 99

2000 won't even fit into your dash without modification, end even then just wouldn't look right, it has a more molded face rather then the flatter ones us 4th gens have, and probably would have some connectibility issues as mentioned above. Just get a 95-99 one, 97-98 have redesigned faces over the 95-96's, and 99 was revised too. Just a matter of personal taste when selecting a style.
