Another knock sensor question

My check engine light came on about a week ago and I just check the codes. 0707 &0304 Rear oxygen sensor (no problem) and the knock sensor code. The thing is I am not having any problems with my gas millage (420 miles on full tank). If the knock sensor is bad wouldn't I have poor gas millage?

any input would be great

is a week enough time for you to determine how much gas mileage u getting out of your car? It might have changed after getting the light.

I don't know? I know that I got about 420 miles with it on. Unless the knock sensor code was just trigger the last day or so. I will check the resistance of the sensor this weekend and see if it is allright. thanks man

check the knock sensors resistance before anything else...

The knock sensor code came up because of your O2 sensor and it's 500k ohms of I'm not mistaken. That also proves nothing since many members had measured their KS and got 500k but the sensor was still not working right...

^^^ True. My KS checked in specs (550-620 KOhms, I believe) but when I replaced it anyways, the difference was night and day.
Anyways, yes, check your O2 sensor first as it may have triggered the KS code too.

My knock sensor was bad and I consistently got 25 mpg, so I don't think mileage is a good indicator of a bad KS.

In general, it would be more useful for members to report mpg rather than total distance since not everyone drains their tank before filling up (which by the way is hard on your fuel pump).

mileage would do nothing either. All my sensors are fine, no codes and I get 280 to a tank all city...
