Stuck his Probe Up his a$$

Every single time I go visit my inlaws I run into this guy who thinks his car is the $hit'$. He owns a 96 probe gt- 5 speed with a few mods(CAI,headers, catback) and he allways brags about how fast his car is and how he has beaten honda's with engine swaps, and so forth. I wouldn't belive him until I saw him beat a hatch with a gsr engine and an accord with an H22 v-tec. He would call me out but I would allways back down because my car was an auto and I knew he would probably beat me off the line. After a while he stopped harrasing me but since he found out I did a 5 speed conversion the harrasing returned. Well last weekend it had been about two months breaking in my clutch and I saw him hanging out with a couple of my friends at the gas station, I pulled in we had a few words and my friends started to instigate a race this time I agreed and went out to a lonely road to race. We both launched decently and by the end of first we were dead even. When we hit second I could hear his engine teching twice so I think he was double clutching.By the end of second I had him by a bumper but he double clutched in third and we were even again by the late third I noticed his car was fading back and by the end of third I was pulling away. Afterwards we went back to the gas station and we all let him have it. It wasn't long before he left like a dog with it's tail between his legs.

Ehm, people dont double clutch in a straight line race.. well... unless they are retarted and learned to drive stick from watching the fast and the furious.

I'm in the same situation as nanomax96..one of my bro's friend has Probe GT with just an intake and he's 5spd and I'm auto with an intake as well (frankencar) and he wants to race saying he could beat me...so I was just wondering if I decide to race him then what are my chances of winning or losing?

Another maxima driver moment brought to by nanomax96. You should be proud any cart(oops, i mean car) that you beat is another car that maximas drivers proudly can say "Fu&k you!!"

That probe is

Umm, whats double clutching?

Sounds like smashing on the clutch twice, and if thats the case how does that not make you slower,

double clutching is used with big trucks.

double clutching: clutch->neutral->rev->clutch->gear

At least this guy raced you. There's a d1ckhead by me with a probe with a weakass exhaust and a "GT-R" emblem on the car. I caught him at wawa one day and asked him if he wanted to go at it. He said he'd only race for money. I told him if he won i'd give up 50 bucks, but if i won, he'd have to take the damn emblem off his car. He couldn't understand why, but i told him some things are more important than money. Then we closed down wilkshire boulevard, and raced against an integra and an accord, and he almost had me until i hit the nawsssssss, and blew everyone away. And the little rat-looking guy in the integra missed out on a 3-some, but no one cared cuz he sucks anyway, and the guy in the probe blew his exhaust manifold and now he owes me a 10-second car and an emblem. I RULE!

It was more like rev->shift gear->clutch in an out simultaneously just in long enough to pick up his revs again. And regardless of what these other guys are saying. I think the guy in the probe knew what he was doing. Every time he would double clutch his car would jump forward and catch up. I'm no expert but that's what would happen everytime he would do it.

Believe me it will come down to the wire. I looked around for stock probe's quarter times and they are just a tad slower than a stock five speed maximas they average around 15.5 so I think I will probably come down to who's the best driver off the line.

Double clutching is not for speed. It's used to save the syncros some wear, and on older vehicles and big trucks, you have to use it to downshift.

clutch disengaged, neutral, clutch engaged, rev match for next gear, clutch disengaged, next gear, clutch engaged

Now, a buddy of mine mistakenly says double clutch when he means something else. I'm not sure what you call it, but I've heard a lot of people talking about doing it, and they claim it helps them a lot.

Basically, after they shift, the hit the clutch again. Their foot is on the gas through all of this. It's claimed that the extra rev and clutch dump boosts them forward a great deal, while I think it's .

I am in the unique position of owning both cars. I have a 99 Maxima and a 94 Probe GT. Stock for stock, the Maxima is the clear winner. But my PGT with mods is a runner...well, when it decides to actually run.

Both cars have their strong and weak points, and both are worth respect...the drivers on the other hand...
