YO WHAT UP Y'ALL I bought an aftermarket 80/100watt wiring harness with pilot relays from e-bay the wiring was nice an thick and the plug seemed to be made out of good quality plastic, I put some 80/100 blue bulbs in and I installed the kit right and my high beam comes on and I dont have the high beam option ( a few of you have experienced the same thing but no one has come up with a solution
) so I come out tonight from w-mart, and pull the car up and my wife tells me that 1 headlight is out so I wiggle the headlight plastic harness around and the light flickers and turns on, so I unplug the connector/holder and lo and behold its all burnt out looking .....I,m ****ed what am I going too do need some sugestions I know I could update too hids but money is kinda tight right now new baby an all.....

I have a Nokya harness. When I first installed it I hooked it up wrong by matching the colored wires of the harness to the colored harness of the stock wiring. By doing that my brights were always on and I ended up burning a bulb 1 day later. I then figured out you dont match up the colors, you match up the wires in the order they come out of the plugs. no matter what color they are. I hope this helps.Originally posted by maximalnemisis

ebay sucks. go to southwestautoworks and get a pair for 15 bucks (nokya upgraded headlight harness). BE SURE TO MATCH TOGETHER THE RIGHT WIRES, NOT THE RIGHT COLOR. it took me MONTHS to figure this out. that should solve your problem.

Stop using 80/100W bulbs. The 9004 socket cannot take the heat. I've never seen the wires burn, it's always the socket. It's like running an A/C on a beefy extension cord and then using an adaptor to get the plug into a 2 prong outlet. The wires carry the current just fine, but the adaptor and socket melt down.
